We have to say that this building is nothing short of Spectacular.
That Dubai Site’s Editor-in-Chief was invited to the VIP opening on the 4th of January of the world’s tallest building, The Burj Dubai. It was opened in spectacular style, which was timed to coincide with the 4th anniversary of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum becoming ruler of Dubai who placed his hand on a light pad to start the inauguration ceremony.
The tower stands at an official height of 828m. The building has 168 occupied floors with the world’s highest observation floor and outside viewing deck on the124th floor. Again That Dubai Sites EIC was one of the first people to visit the observation deck when it opened at 15:00 on the 5th.
The building’s name was changed to Burj Khalifa, by Sheikh Mohammed on the opening night. The ruler of Dubai renamed it as the gesture of gratitude to Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed al Nahyan, President of United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
Beautiful by day resembling the petals of a desert plant indigenous to the region with its gleaming glass and stainless steel shimmering in the desert sun this building was transformed for its opening night into something from another world.
At one point fireworks exploded up and down the entire building breaking yet more records for fireworks launched from a structure, forget the Olympics and New Years Eve this was the display of displays and the one to beat from now on.
Already a financial success for the developers Emaar who are currently 10% in profit with only 90% of the building sold not to mention the revenue from the observation deck takings this building is a winner in every sense.
